About the Role

IT Delivery Manager

Purpose

To lead the IT projects to successfully deliver to time, cost and quality as per agreed business cases, and in line with the Company’s Policy.  Delivering with industry best practice, standards and quality.

This role requires strong leadership, collaboration across all functions, meticulous planning, due diligence and strategic thinking to ensure we deliver most value with finite resources.

Scope of accountability

As the IT Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for Project Delivery of IT & Data projects; oversight and reporting of the IT Portfolio, Coaching and Mentoring colleagues across IT & Data Function to mature delivery capability across the team.

Areas of responsibility

Project Delivery

  • Effectively monitor project performance, track key milestones, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with agreed outcomes and quality measures.
  • In collaboration with procurement, ensure that where third party contractors are used in the delivery of a project, Statement of Works are clearly defined, understood and align with the overall objectives of the project, ensuring value for money and quality outputs.
  • Establish and maintain an effective handover process and criteria for handing over project outputs to business as usual, ensuring clear ownership and tracking of benefits and outcomes.

PMO Governance and Standards

  • Establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks, in line with industry best practice.
  • Enforce PMO policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ensure that all reporting is consistent, systemised, a single version of the truth and to the highest standard to promote ease of understanding at all levels of the organisation.
  • Conduct capacity planning and resource forecasting to align resource allocation with project priorities and business objectives.
  • Maintain and proactively manage a single view of delivery risk in line with the Company’s risk management framework.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, agencies, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular communication and reporting on project status, progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at all levels.

Leadership and Development

  • Mentor and inspire IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance and support on project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to the IT department.

Experience and Skills

  • Degree or practitioner certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, APM)
  • Expertise in project management methodologies, using PPM tools (preferably Monday.com), and techniques.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management and PMO, with a focus on IT projects.
  • Experience in End-to-End project management responsibility shaping and delivering multi-workstream projects / programmes (ideally both hardware and software implementations).
  • Evidence of managing multiple projects of different sizes concurrently.
  • Manages interdependencies both internal and external parties.
  • Leadership, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of information systems across several different business and technology areas including ERP, CRM, Logistics and Fulfilment, Digital/Omnichannel, Networks and Telco, Cybersecurity, DataCentre, Time and Attendance, Data Solutions, Legacy migration/decommissioning
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Any technical awareness of disparate infrastructure, IT system consolidation would be highly advantageous.
  • Enjoys problem-solving, working in teams, and taking initiative.
