The Financial Modeller Analyst will play a crucial role in providing analytical support and building financial models that assist in decision making, strategic planning, and financial forecasting to support growth.

 

Areas of responsibility:

Financial Modelling:

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation, planning, and forecasting for waste and recycling projects.
  • Analyse the financial viability of projects aimed at improving waste stream management and material recovery.

Cost Analysis and Optimisation:

  • Review and analyse costing data for waste streams to identify cost reduction opportunities and improve profitability.
  • Evaluate the financial impacts of proposed changes in waste processing and disposal methods.

Sustainability Projects:

  • Model the financial outcomes of projects designed to enhance the quality of recycled materials for sale.
  • Assess the return on investment for new technologies or processes that aim to increase material recovery or reduce environmental impact.
Reporting and Compliance:
  • Prepare detailed reports on the cost efficiency of operations and the financial performance of sustainability projects.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards in financial reporting.

Data Management and Integration:

  • Gather and validate financial and operational data from various sources within the Group.
  • Integrate sustainability considerations into financial planning and business strategy.

Strategic Support and Decision Making:

  • Provide strategic insights to help the company optimise waste management practices and material sales strategies.
  • Collaborate with environmental and operations managers to align financial strategies with ecological goals.

 

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as an MBA or CFA are advantageous.
  • Expertise in Excel and other financial modelling tools. Knowledge of SQL, VBA, or other programming languages is beneficial.
  • Strong capability in financial analysis and cost accounting.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and technical data to stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial modelling and analysis within the waste sector, or a closely related industry, is highly desirable.
