About the Role

At Beauparc we are looking for a Head of Credit Control to join our team on a fixed term contract basis (12-18 months). The Head of Credit Control will be responsible for leading the credit control function of the Group during the implementation of a new Group wide ERP and bringing the Group credit control function together across Ireland and the UK. The role involves managing the team leads, developing effective credit policies and procedures and sponsoring a culture of continuous improvement in the Group credit control function. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • ERP Implementation Lead for Group credit control: Group are implementing a new ERP system, this role will drive the data clean-up in the credit control function, ensuring clean data transfers across to the new ERP, map out process flows and ensures the policies and procedures being set up within the new ERP for the credit control function are best in class and standardised across the Group, Ireland and the UK
  • Oversee the performance of the credit control functions in Ireland and the UK ensuring key day to day items are being delivered by the local team leads with relevant team leads and finance colleagues, such as 
  • Customer Onboarding: Leading the onboarding of new customers, including categorisation of customers and setting of individual credit limits, predominately for Commercial & Processing Ireland and changing any procedures that are currently not best in class. 
  • Credit Insurance management: Managing the credit insurance process and ensuring all reviews and monitoring of customer balances and liaising with credit insurance provider is completed predominately for Commercial & Processing Ireland
  • Debt Management: Ensuring effective strategies to collect outstanding debts and reduce the incidence of overdue payments are being implemented by the team including setting credit collection targets for the credit control function on a monthly basis and then monitoring and reporting to management against that.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate the credit control team to achieve their individual and team targets and improve overall performance of the department.
  • Credit Policy Development: Develop, review, and improve credit management policies and procedures to minimise risk.
  • Reporting: Ensuring detailed reports on the credit control department’s KPI’s, cash collection results for the period have been prepared and presented to senior management. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to improve information flow and ensure all relevant departments are informed of credit policies.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all credit and collection procedures comply with legal regulations.
  • Customer Negotiations: Ensuring negotiations with delinquent accounts, deciding on the terms of credit and negotiation of payment plans have been conducted appropriately by the Team. 

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in credit control with leadership responsibilities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field desirable. Professional qualifications such as CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) may be preferred.
  • Experience in credit insurance management and reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Positive attitude, energetic and a desire to drive continuous improvement and develop a best-in-class credit control function.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office.
