Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- The safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Support efficient operations by monitoring equipment, controlling traffic, and inspecting for abnormal operations.
- Required to operate and inspect equipment, record data, report accidents, equipment damage, malfunctions, or trends that indicate possible trouble.
- Perform actions as directed to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations.
- Perform PM maintenance tasks and assist with equipment repairs.
- Operate on a picking line.
- Sweep and clean the floor, roadways, and paved areas of the site.
- Perform painting, cleanup work, and various other housekeeping duties.
- Support the maintenance or operating groups as necessary.
- This position may require working overtime and incidental or prolonged hours, resulting from unusual operating conditions or major overhauls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow all company procedures and safety policies.
- Other duties may be required as instructed by management.

Education and/or experience:

Leaving Certificate or similar:
- Previous experience in the operation of front-end loaders and other mobile equipment.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Formal technical or apprentice training is desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak and communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
CSCS card for loader/forklift/MEWP would be advantageous.
Other skills and abilities:
Ability to take appropriate safe action on his/her own initiative to prevent equipment damage or injury to personnel during emergencies or unusual situations.
