HGV Class 2 Driver Trade Waste

Fletchers Waste Management, part of the Beauparc Group, are looking to recruit a Trade Waste Driver to cover services in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Sheffield

Working Hours: 43.75 -hour working week, normal hours of work may be varied to meet the operational requirements of the business.

Salary: £14.20 per hour, plus overtime rate paid

The Role:

• You will be driving a HGV vehicle to a scheduled route, emptying multiple commercial trade waste bins and ensuring all information is input into the onboard weighing system.
• Liaise with the operational management team to carry out the route efficiently and effectively.
• To drive the company’s vehicles in a professional and competent manner and be mindful of other road users at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all transportation activities are conducted in strict adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Collecting waste in bins and bags as per the scheduled routes.
• You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicle checks are undertaken within the company policies and procedures and report any defects immediately.
• Operate within the Road Transport Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Keeping vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
• You will be expected to report ALL incidents or accidents immediately or at the earliest convenience to the Operation’s Team.
• You will be required to attend any training in-line with the your core role.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Class 2 license
• CPC qualification
• Previous experience in the waste industry or similar industry preferred.
• This is a physically demanding role.
• Good communication skills and personable approach to a customer focused role.
• Excellent driving and navigation skills.
