The Role
As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of waste in line with customer requirements. Your role is crucial to ensuring the seamless operation of our site and supporting our commitment to environmental sustainability.
 
Key responsibilities include
  • Driving the Hook and Skip trucks 
  • Carry out required vehicle condition checks as required on daily or weekly basis in accordance with company policy (Drivers Manual)
  • Carry out assigned collection and delivery targets on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Be 100% compliant with health, safety, smoking regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Maintain written and electronic records as required.
  • Assist in route optimisation through the use of GPS system.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned company vehicle to agreed standards.
  • Communicate information that could potentially improve customer service or increase business.
  • Work flexibly in line with the requirements of the depot.
  • Assist in training new personnel, as required.
  • Communicate effectively with helpers (where relevant) and ensure their health and safety.
  • Participate in company mandated training.

Qualifications:

  • Valid HGV Class 2.
  • CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably in waste management or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HGV vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Excellent driving and navigation skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Must hold a Class 2 (CAT C) license
